Sadyaska’s Dabu collection is a fusion of new and old techniques to create colorful, contemporary homes with a personal touch. Every single piece of this collection has been handcrafted with passion and infused with love. It is uniqueness comes from maximum use of the handmade element in its printing and embroidery. This collection draws inspiration from the traditional Dabu printing technique which is known for its vegetable dyes and mud resists (Dabu) Block Print. The Dabu collection presents soft and vibrant hues. The rich organic colors have the imprint of the plants used, the water and the skill of the printing masters. Block printing has been done by hand and the slight color variation within a print and across different print runs is a natural part of the process. It is this attribute which lends a uniqueness to the product that is widely appreciated by those who value artisan textiles.
“Dabu” is a mud resist block printing technique done through a special process. The mud must be the right consistency to be applied with a wooden block, be taken up by the fabric.
